Before an explosion, the vent at the top of the Santiaguito dome is sealed, trapping hot gases and magma below. As the gas builds up, the pressure increases and eventually tears through the dome’s sealed vent, releasing the pent-up gases and sending magma and loose rocks skyward. Santiaguito eventually runs out of fuel, causing eruptions to cease. The materials that were spit out cover the dome, resealing Santiaguito’s vent and starting the process over again.</div>

The vessel and its crew of eight Sri Lankan seafarers have now been seized by the pirates and are being held pending either ransom negotiations or a rescue attempt by the regional Puntland authorities. The bomb gave an explosive start to Jimale's term as the chief of the Somali National Army. He was appointed on Thursday by President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed who declared Somalia a war zone. The president, who was elected in February, replaced his military and intelligence chiefs and instructed the army to prepare a new offensive against al-Shabab extremists. Mohamed also replaced the country's police chief and Mogadishu's mayor.</div>

<span style="font-size: large;">The <b>Gombe Chimpanzee War</b> (also known as the "<b>Four-Year War</b>" of Gombe), lasting from 1974 to 1978, was a violent conflict between two communities of chimpanzees in Gombe Stream National Park, in Tanzania. The belligerent groups were the Kasakela and the Kahama, which occupied territories in the northern and southern areas of the park, respectively. The two had previously been a single, unified community, but by 1974 researcher Jane Goodall, who was observing the community, first noticed the chimps dividing themselves into northern and southern sub-groups. Later computer-aided analysis of Goodall's notes would reveal that the social rift between the two groups had been present as early as 1971.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">The first outbreak of violence occurred on January 7, 1974, when a party of six adult Kasakela males attacked and killed "Godi", a young Kahama male, who had been feeding in a tree. This was the first time that any of the chimpanzees had been seen to deliberately kill a fellow chimp.</span></div>
